Phuket Weed & Cannabis Shops 2026 — Patong, Rawai, Bang Tao & Prescription Rules

Phuket still has cannabis shops in every beach area, but you cannot walk in and buy flower the way visitors did in 2023. Since 26 June 2025 cannabis flower has been a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Act. A shop may sell it only against a prescription (the PT 33 form) written by an authorised practitioner, and that rule covers tourists as much as residents.

Our directory lists 27 cannabis shops across the island, drawn from public map data, plus two Thai traditional medicine clinics that list cannabis consultations. Being listed does not mean a shop is licensed or that it follows the prescription rule. A properly run shop will ask for your prescription before it sells you anything.

How buying cannabis in Phuket works now

1. Consult an authorised practitioner. Medical doctors, Thai traditional medicine practitioners and the other prescriber types certified by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) can assess you. They decide whether to prescribe.
2. Receive the PT 33. It lists the product, dose and duration and is valid for up to 30 days. Bring your passport.
3. Buy within the prescription. A licensed outlet can sell up to a 30-day supply. Since January 2026 it must have a DTAM-trained staff member present for all opening hours.

Where Phuket’s cannabis shops are

Going by the addresses in our listings:

• Patong. The largest group, about eight shops around Thawewong (Beach) Road, Bangla Road, Nanai Road and Sainamyen Road. They include The Phuket Cannabis Club Patong, Juicy Buds Phuket, LV Cannabis Boutique Patong, Cannabis Bulldog Phuket and Holidaze.
• Rawai and Chalong. Around six shops in the south of the island, such as Green House Rawai and Lowlands Amsterdam Coffeeshop on Wiset Road, BAKED BY KC and Green Room Phuket in Chalong.
• Phuket Town. Five listings in and near the old town, including Clouds on Ratsada Road and DUCKY KUSH on Thepkrasattri Road.
• Bang Tao and Cherng Talay. LV Cannabis Boutique Bang Tao and King Cannabis Thailand near Laguna.
• Kata and Karon. Runfarm Cannabis Shop and Happyman Botanics on Kata Road.

Where to get a PT 33 prescription in Phuket

Two listings describe themselves as Thai traditional medicine clinics:

• Green Head Clinic, Yaowarat Road, Phuket Town.
• Greenhead Clinic Bangtao, Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, Choeng Thale.

Call first to check that a cannabis-certified practitioner is on duty. Clinics elsewhere in Thailand, including Bangkok, are in the clinic directory.

Rules for visitors in Phuket

• No smoking on the beach or in the street. A public smoke or smell nuisance can be fined up to 25,000 THB, with up to 3 months in prison, under the Public Health Act 1992. Most hotels and villas also ban smoking indoors.
• Selling without a prescription carries its own penalty. For the seller it is up to 20,000 THB and up to a year in prison under the Traditional Medicine Act. That is a separate law from the smoking fine. The penalties guide explains both.

Phuket cannabis FAQ

Can I buy weed in Phuket as a tourist?

Only with a valid PT 33 prescription from an authorised practitioner. Tourists can consult at a clinic with a passport. The practitioner decides whether cannabis is appropriate for you, and without a prescription buying flower is not legal.

Where is the best area for weed shops in Phuket?

Patong has the most shops, around Beach Road and Bangla Road. Rawai and Chalong have the second-largest group, and Phuket Town, Bang Tao and Kata-Karon each have a few. “Best” should mean a shop that checks prescriptions and shows its licence.

Is weed delivery available in Phuket?

Some listings mention delivery, but delivery does not remove the prescription requirement. A seller who drops off flower without checking a valid prescription is selling illegally.

Where can I get a cannabis prescription in Phuket?

Green Head Clinic in Phuket Town and Greenhead Clinic in Bang Tao list themselves as Thai traditional medicine clinics. Call ahead to confirm a certified practitioner is working.

Is CBD legal in Phuket?

Yes. CBD products under 0.2% THC that are registered as food, cosmetics or herbal products are legal without a prescription.

Can I smoke weed on the beach in Phuket?

No. Smoking in a public place in a way that bothers others can be fined up to 25,000 THB under the Public Health Act.
