Phuket & Koh Samui

Phuket & Koh Samui — Built for tourists. English-speaking staff, walk-in consultations, and easy access to CBD products. Pattaya is another strong option for expats and short-term visitors.

Since 26 June 2025, buying cannabis flower needs a PT 33 prescription, so pick a city with a clinic close to where you stay. CBD products with no more than 0.2% THC are sold without a prescription in every major city.

Which Thai city has the most cannabis dispensaries?
Bangkok, by a wide margin: our directory lists 140 shops there. Call ahead before visiting any of them, since many shops closed after failing to renew their licences in 2025 and 2026.
Can tourists buy cannabis in Thai cities?
CBD products with no more than 0.2% THC can be bought in any city without a prescription. Cannabis flower is different: since June 2025 every buyer, Thai or foreign, needs a PT 33 prescription from an authorised practitioner first. Phuket and Koh Samui have clinics that cater specifically to international visitors.
Which city is best for medical cannabis clinics?
Bangkok has the most medical cannabis clinics and the broadest range of specialties, including government hospitals. Chiang Mai stands out for traditional Thai herbal medicine clinics. Phuket and Koh Samui offer English-language consultations aimed at tourists and expats.
Do cannabis laws differ from city to city?
The national law is the same everywhere in Thailand. That said, local municipalities can add their own ordinances — for example, banning public smoking in certain zones or near schools. Check the local rules for whatever city you are visiting.
