Koh Tao Weed & Cannabis Shops 2026 — Sairee, Mae Haad & Prescription Rules

For a small dive island, Koh Tao has a lot of cannabis shops: our directory lists 24, drawn from public map data. The law they operate under is the same as the rest of Thailand. Since 26 June 2025 cannabis flower has been a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Act, and a shop may sell it only against a PT 33 prescription from an authorised practitioner.

A listing here is not a licence check. The shops that follow the rules will ask for your prescription, and there is no cannabis clinic on the island in our directory, so plan how you will get one before you arrive.

How buying cannabis on Koh Tao works

1. See an authorised practitioner first. Medical doctors, Thai traditional medicine practitioners and the other prescribers certified by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) can assess you and decide whether to prescribe.
2. Get the PT 33. It sets the product, dose and duration, is valid for up to 30 days, and needs your passport.
3. Buy within it. Licensed outlets can sell up to 30 days’ supply and must have DTAM-trained staff present whenever they are open.

The nearest clinic in our listings is Surat Thani Hospital on the mainland. If you are coming through Bangkok, the clinic directory lists options there. The PT 33 prescription guide has the full process.

Where the cannabis shops are on Koh Tao

Koh Tao is part of Ko Pha-ngan district, so most addresses say “Koh Phangan” even though the shops are on Koh Tao. From our listings:

• Most-reviewed shops. Green Nation Dispensary, Buds Bar n Grill, Weeden and BEYOND CANNABIS Sairee each have well over 150 Google reviews.
• Sairee. The main beach and village strip, with BEYOND CANNABIS, Happy 420 hour on Sairee Road and Nutta Cannabis.
• Mae Haad. The ferry pier area, where Koh Tao Blue Gelato lists a shop and small farm.
• Around the island. High Siam, Ganja Cannabis Shop & Snooker Club, Chica Loca Weed Bar and Freedom cannabis, among others.

All 24 are on the map below.

Rules for visitors on Koh Tao

• Never before diving. Dive schools will turn away anyone who seems impaired, and being high underwater is dangerous.
• Public smoking is its own offence. Smoke or smell that bothers others in public can be fined up to 25,000 THB, with up to 3 months in prison, under the Public Health Act 1992.
• Selling without a prescription carries a different penalty, up to 20,000 THB and up to a year in prison for the seller under the Traditional Medicine Act. See the penalties guide.
• Delivery is not a loophole. A few listings mention delivery. Any sale of flower still needs a valid prescription.
• CBD under 0.2% THC with FDA registration is sold without a prescription. See the CBD guide.
