Koh Phangan Weed & Cannabis Shops 2026 — Haad Rin, Ban Tai & Prescription Rules

Koh Phangan’s party reputation has not changed the law: since 26 June 2025 cannabis flower in Thailand is a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Act, and shops may sell it only to someone with a PT 33 prescription from an authorised practitioner. That applies at Haad Rin during a full moon party exactly as it does in a Bangkok clinic.

Our directory currently shows two cannabis shops on Koh Phangan, from public map data: Cannabis Corner in Ban Tai and Jamaica Jello Bar at Haad Rin. We are still checking other island listings before publishing them. As everywhere, being listed is not proof of a licence.

Why “Koh Phangan” addresses often mean Koh Tao

Koh Tao belongs to Ko Pha-ngan district, so many Koh Tao shops show “Koh Phangan” in their Google address. Weeden, for example, is on Koh Tao, not Koh Phangan. If you are searching for a shop by name, check our Koh Tao page too.

How buying cannabis on Koh Phangan works

1. Consult an authorised practitioner. Doctors, Thai traditional medicine practitioners and the other prescribers certified by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) decide whether cannabis is appropriate for you.
2. Get the PT 33. It records product, dose and duration and is valid for up to 30 days. Bring your passport.
3. Buy within it. Licensed outlets can sell up to 30 days’ supply and must have DTAM-trained staff on site during opening hours.

Rules for visitors on Koh Phangan

• Party beaches are public places. Smoke or smell that disturbs others in public can be fined up to 25,000 THB, with up to 3 months in prison, under the Public Health Act 1992.
• Selling without a prescription is a separate offence, with up to 20,000 THB and up to a year in prison for the seller under the Traditional Medicine Act. See the penalties guide.
• Edibles and shakes are not a loophole. Flower is a controlled herb whatever form it is sold in, and cannabis extracts above 0.2% THC are still Category 5 narcotics.
