Pai Weed & Cannabis Shops 2026 — Walking Street, Mae Hi & Prescription Rules

Pai, the mountain town in Mae Hong Son, has 12 cannabis shops and one farm in our directory, taken from public map data. Its easy-going image has not changed the law. Since 26 June 2025 cannabis flower has been a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Act, and shops may sell it only to someone holding a PT 33 prescription from an authorised practitioner.

A listing is not proof of a licence. A shop that follows the law will ask for your prescription before selling.

How buying cannabis in Pai works

1. Get assessed by an authorised practitioner. We do not list a cannabis clinic in Pai. The nearest in our directory is Chiang Mai CM Mediclinic, so it makes sense to sort this out in Chiang Mai before the drive up.
2. Receive the PT 33 if they prescribe. It sets product, dose and duration, is valid for up to 30 days and needs your passport.
3. Buy within it. Licensed outlets can sell up to 30 days’ supply and must have DTAM-trained staff on site whenever they are open.

The PT 33 prescription guide has the details.
