About Chanthaburi
For travelers in eastern Thailand, Chanthaburi Province offers an alternative to the more crowded beach destinations. The area’s strengths include gem trading, fruit tourism during durian season (April-June), national parks like Namtok Phlio and Khao Khitchakut, and an authentic local food scene. Cannabis shops like this dispensary cater to the area’s growing visitor numbers.
PT 33 Prescription Required
Buying flower here requires a PT 33 prescription. That has been the rule since 26 June 2025, when cannabis flower was reclassified as a controlled herb for medical use only. Prescriptions come from DTAM-certified doctors, Thai traditional medicine practitioners and a few other licensed professions, and each one covers at most 30 days’ supply. CBD products under 0.2% THC are the exception and need no prescription. For clinics in and around Chanthaburi, see our clinic directory and the PT 33 guide.
