Bangkok Weed & Cannabis Shops 2026 — Prescription Rules, Areas & Clinics

Bangkok still has more cannabis shops than any other city in Thailand, but the rules for buying changed on 26 June 2025. Cannabis flower is now a “controlled herb” under the Thai Traditional Medicine Act, and a shop may only sell it to someone holding a prescription (the PT 33 form) from an authorised practitioner. That applies to Thai residents and tourists alike, on Sukhumvit and everywhere else.

Our directory lists around 140 dispensaries and 9 clinics in and around Bangkok, gathered from public map data. A listing tells you a business exists at that address. It does not tell you the shop is licensed or that it follows the prescription rule, so check both at the counter.

How buying cannabis in Bangkok works now

1. See an authorised practitioner. A medical doctor, Thai traditional medicine practitioner or another prescriber category certified by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) assesses you and decides whether cannabis is appropriate.
2. Get the PT 33 prescription. It states the product, dose and duration, and is valid for up to 30 days. Tourists use a passport for identification.
3. Buy only what the prescription covers. Licensed outlets can sell up to a 30-day supply against a valid prescription. Since January 2026 they must also have a DTAM-trained staff member on site during all opening hours.

A shop that sells you flower without asking for a prescription is breaking the law, and it does not make the purchase legal for you either.

Where Bangkok’s cannabis shops are

Addresses in our listings cluster in a few districts. This is where you will find most of them:

• Sukhumvit (Nana to Phra Khanong). The biggest cluster by far, with roughly 30 listings on Sukhumvit Road and its sois. Examples include Cloud Nine Bangkok on lower Sukhumvit Road, Dr Green Bangkok on Soi 16, MedLab Dispensary on Soi 26 and WEED Express near Phra Khanong.
• Thong Lo and Ekkamai. Several shops sit in the Khlong Tan Nuea side streets, such as Greens Dispensary on Thong Lo 10, Wake N Bake on Thong Lo 15 and Strainz Ekkamai on Sukhumvit 63.
• Silom, Sathorn and Bang Rak. Frost Fine Cannabis on Silom Road, THE DISPENSARY by Taratera on Sala Daeng 1 and Leaf Cannabis Cafe off Sathorn. The Silom area also has a clinic (below).
• Khao San and the old town (Phra Nakhon). RG 420 on Khao San Road and Tenderloin WEED Bangkok near Democracy Monument, with the Greenhead clinic on Tanao Road a short walk away.
• Ratchada and Chatuchak. A smaller group along Ratchadaphisek Road and Phahonyothin, including shops at the Box Space Ratchayothin mall.

Rules for visitors in Bangkok

• Smoking in public is a separate offence. Creating a smoke or smell nuisance in public can bring a fine of up to 25,000 THB and up to 3 months in prison under the Public Health Act 1992. Check your hotel’s rules too; most ban smoking in rooms.
• Selling without a prescription is a different penalty. A seller faces up to 20,000 THB and up to a year in prison under the Traditional Medicine Act. The two figures come from two different laws. Our penalties guide sets them out side by side.
• CBD is different. Products under 0.2% THC that are registered with the Thai FDA are sold without a prescription. See our CBD guide.
• Do not fly with it or take it home. Domestic airlines have their own rules, and most neighbouring countries treat cannabis as a serious drug offence. Read flying with cannabis in Thailand before you pack.
• No new law yet. The draft Cannabis and Hemp Act has not passed parliament, so the rules above come from ministerial regulations and can change. Our tourist guide is updated when they do.

Bangkok cannabis FAQ

Can tourists buy weed in Bangkok in 2026?

Only with a PT 33 prescription. A tourist can get one from an authorised practitioner at a clinic by showing a passport, if the practitioner decides it is medically appropriate. Without a prescription, buying cannabis flower is not legal, however relaxed a shop looks.

Where are the weed dispensaries in Bangkok?

Most are on Sukhumvit Road and its sois between Nana and Phra Khanong, with smaller clusters in Thong Lo and Ekkamai, Silom and Sathorn, Khao San Road and Ratchada. Every shop we list is on the map below with its address.

Is cannabis delivery in Bangkok legal?

Delivery does not get around the prescription requirement. Under the 2025 and 2026 rules a sale of cannabis flower needs a valid prescription and a licensed outlet with trained staff on duty. If a delivery service offers flower without checking a prescription, it is selling illegally.

Where can I get a cannabis prescription in Bangkok?

Can I smoke weed in public in Bangkok?

No. Public smoking that causes a nuisance can be fined up to 25,000 THB under the Public Health Act, separate from any rules about buying. Use cannabis only in private and only as prescribed.

Is CBD oil legal in Bangkok?

Yes, if it contains less than 0.2% THC and is sold as an FDA-registered food, cosmetic or herbal product. You will find it in pharmacies and wellness shops without a prescription.
